Fire Investigation and Evidence Collection - 1.5 CEUs
This class is being held in conjunction with the Floria Fire and Explosives Investigators Section's Regional Meeting
Instructors: Detective Daniel Fritz CID, Capt. Campina CID, Lt. Amelia Hitchcock CID, Detective Wil Murphy CID
(1.5 Contact hours approved for Fire Code Administrator, Fire Safety Inspector, and Fire Services Instructor)
The course is designed to familiarize individuals with collecting, packaging, and sending evidence to make sure they are in accordance with NFPA 921. The course will also review lab requirements and what labs are available and what is needed for each lab. Each student will be shown how to package samples / evidence.
- Explain how to collect evidence from fire scene
- How to ship evidence and show the process
- Present Examples on how it is done from beginning to end
- Discussion of the CID lab and who can use it
